Southampton fans react on Twitter to Spurs loanee Kyle Walker-Peters’s display
Kyle Walker-Peters may have endured a difficult evening as Southampton secured a late draw on Monday, but plenty of supporters are imploring Ralph Hasenhuttl to still try and sign the Tottenham Hotspur starlet this summer.
The Spurs loanee went into the contest off the back of two particularly impressive performances for the Saints.

Walker-Peters was outstanding against Manchester City at St Mary’s. And he followed that with another good showing against Everton.
However, the 23-year-old seemed to have much tougher time at Old Trafford. Questions could arguably be asked of him for both of Manchester United’s goals.

The Tottenham man seemed to get drawn in and leave Marcus Rashford in plenty of space for the home side’s equaliser. He was certainly beaten too easily for Anthony Martial’s strike.
Nevertheless, plenty of Southampton fans believe that he still showed a lot in the game. And they remain convinced that he should remain a key target for Hasenhuttl this summer.
It remains to be seen what Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has planned for Walker-Peters. His previous displays may have left some Tottenham supporters wondering whether he did indeed still have a future with the club.
Monday’s game was potentially a reminder that he is still learning after enjoying little first-team football over the last few years.
But that has not put off the Saints fans hoping to see him stay beyond this season.
Here is how some of those supporters reacted to his display…
KWP has to be a priority to sign for next season. Would be fine with some cash and KWP for Hojbjerg. Think team has clearly shown they can do just fine without him. Would like him to stay but need to make most of his transfer if he wants out #SaintsFC

KWP is good. People moaning because one of the best players in the league got the better of him can do one. They’ll probably be same people to decide he’s world class next week. #saintsfc

Really impressed with KWP yet again, definitely need to look to make that deal permanent, providing Daniel Levy doesn’t do a Daniel Levy and sticks a £100m price tag on someone who would get no where near the first time under the dinosaur Mourinho #SaintsFC

Already looking forward to next season, if we carry on with this attitude to games, and sign kwp, #SaintsFC

Anyone slating KWP , whenever you come up against quality this sometimes happens, forgetting how good he was against city? Should we sign him ? #SaintsFC

He made a mistake and should have been on them closer, but they are world class and we all make mistakes. I’d love us to sign him – I think he brings a lot to us. #MUNSOU #SaintsFC #WeMarchOn

I would sign him in a heartbeat.
