Southampton will reportedly sign Everton-owned Theo Walcott on a permanent basis in the summer – and some Saints fans on Twitter are delighted with the transfer speculation.

TalkSPORT reports that Walcott is set to complete a move to St Mary’s on a free transfer at the end of the season.

It is explained that both parties want to wrap up a permanent deal for the 32-year-old, who has been on loan at Southampton this season from Everton.

With the attacker’s Everton deal expiring at the end of the campaign, reports suggest that loan club Southampton want to be the ones to snap him up.

The speedster was granted an exit from the Merseyside club to play the last year of his Toffees contract out on loan, where he’s rediscovered some kind of form.

He’s a long way from the attacking sensation he once was for Arsenal, as well as England, but he’s shown he can still have a positive impact at Premier League level.

A selection of Southampton supporters on social media are over the moon that Walcott is primed to re-join them next season, this time permanently.

His Everton career has been somewhat disappointing, but they are now moving in another direction with a different squad of players.
