Southampton qualified for the FA Cup quarter-finals with a victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday evening – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter picked out 28-year-old Stuart Armstrong as a standout performer.
The Saints recorded a 2-0 away win at Molineux over Premier League opposition Wolves, who they face again in a top-flight fixture at the weekend.
Danny Ings opened the scoring early in the second-half with a fortunate goal that deflected off him, while Armstrong netted a late second in the 90th minute.
Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side went into the game off the back of five consecutive defeats in the Premier League, but a win in the cup should boost confidence and sets them up well for another clash against Wolves.
They will travel to Championship side and rivals Bournemouth in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

A selection of Southampton fans on social media named Armstrong as one of their best players on the pitch.
The Scottish midfielder missed one golden goalscoring opportunity from close-range at one stage, but made up for that with an accurate finish late on that went in off the post.
He’s a versatile star that can play anywhere across the midfield and he was at the heart of everything creative against Wolves.
