Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard is reportedly attracting interest from Southampton – and some Saints fans on Twitter are delighted with the transfer speculation that they want to sign him.

The Scottish Sun reports that Premier League side Southampton are now involved in the transfer battle this summer for the 23-year-old.

It is understood that the Saints have joined Arsenal, Aston Villa and Italian club Roma in showing interest in him.

The report explains that Edouard could look to try exit Parkhead at the end of the season to explore opportunities elsewhere.

The French centre-forward is a key figure for Scottish giants Celtic due to his goal contributions, but they are likely to cash in this summer for £20million-plus if they get the chance.

A selection of Southampton supporters on social media are convinced that Edouard could add something to their squad at St Mary’s, especially as they’ve had real success in the past conducting transfer business with Celtic.

Danny Ings is the current first-choice striker for Southampton, but they could do with some extra firepower in support of him.

Edouard has no experience in English football yet, but he’s shown his goalscoring pedigree with 83 goals in 167 Celtic appearances.
