It’s approaching the time of the year when the football has come to an end and all that fans have to sustain themselves on is transfer gossip and the announcements of new kits and fixtures.
A good kit can get a disproportionate amount of excitement from supporters who are desperate for any crumb of connection to Premier League football.
But there’s no place to hide if you get it wrong and as Southampton introduced their new kit for the 2019/20 season, they found that out to their cost.
The usual red and white stripes were out in force – but they were thick blocks – and black is on the sleeves and around the neck area as well – it hasn’t gone down well.

The supporters are not a fan of the kit at all, and in an era where the prices of merchandise are only going up and up, it’ll be interesting to see how many of them buy it.
We’ve put together the best of the angry reaction from the Saints fanbase, who will hope for a better season next time around, but seem to think they’ve got a worse kit…
