Feyenoord midfielder Tonny Vilhena is looking like a wanted man. As reported by Calcio Mercato and Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by Football London, both Tottenham Hotspur and AS Roma are keen on signing the Dutch international in the months to come.

It should not come as a surprise. The 23-year-old has been in fine form recently. He scored 13 goals and assisted six in a 44-game campaign. This season he has done most of his impressing with the national team. Vilhena has been in fine form for the Netherlands, helping them to their recent renaissance under Ronald Koeman.

Which brings us to Southampton.

Koeman knows Vilhena well. He managed him in Rotterdam and made him an integral part of the team. In 2015, Southampton desperately tried to reunite the pair.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Southampton bid £3 million for the player on deadline day in February 2015. Vilhenna was unsettled at Feyenoord since the departure of Koeman and the Saints wanted him on the cheap.

However, the Dutch side wanted £5 million and Southampton could not get a deal together.

Vilhenna eventually went on to rebuild his career with Feyenoord and now, still at the tender age of 23-years’old, is beginning to attract the attention of some of Europe’s best clubs.

Southampton must now wish they had snapped him up when they had the chance.
