The tie certainly isn’t over yet

Southampton will go to Anfield with a one goal lead and yet to concede in the competition this season, but Liverpool will be confident of breaking that run and scoring in front of their own fans.

The Saints had a number of opportunities to extend their lead and the Reds should really have done more to capitalise on the possession that they enjoyed in both periods, but neither could do enough to change the result after Redmond’s strike in the 20th minute.

It’s game on at Anfield, where Jurgen Klopp will look to protect his record of never having lost a semi-final and Claude Puel will seek to reach Wembley in his debut season in England.
