Have Southampton found their latest star in Josh Sims?

Picking up the man of the match award on Sunday was 19-year-old Josh Sims, making his debut in the Saints first team after being picked in the absence of Dusan Tadic in the Southampton attack.

With 95% pass completion ratio in the first half, an assist for the winning goal and a remarkable performance which caused Everton problems throughout, Sims’ debut could not have gone better until he was replaced by another young academy graduate Sam McQueen as Claude Puel looked to protect his lead for the final minutes.

With five successful take-ons and dribbles, Sims could certainly be one to keep an eye on and would rightly feel hard done by if he doesn’t retain his spot in the starting line-up.
