‘Sources on both sides…’: Fabrizio Romano offers very latest on Vlahovic to Arsenal in January

Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter this evening to once again play down reports of a Dusan Vlahovic move to Arsenal.

Surprise reports over the weekend have seen Vlahovic once again linked with a move to Arsenal. It comes around nine months after Vlahovic snubbed the Gunners to join Juventus, with the Turin club signing him for around the £66m mark.

However, while Vlahovic is obviously a player Arsenal like a lot, Fabrizio Romano spoke on the issue earlier today and played down reports, despite admitting he cannot predict the future. And taking to his Twitter account tonight, Romano seems to have done some more digging on the situation, and it’s not good news again for the Gunners fans.

Of course, Arsenal aren’t desperate for Vlahovic at the moment. They signed Gabriel Jesus in the summer and the Brazilian has been a breath of fresh air for the Gunners. His performances have won widespread praise, and the ex-Man City man has been key for Mikel Arteta.

For Vlahovic, then, it seems to be a case of simply buckling down and ignoring the noise. He has scored four goals for Juve this season, but has come under fire for not being at his best.

Surely that is a final nail in the coffin. This always seemed to be a rumour from nowhere and so it’s proving to be.

Vlahovic has plenty of time to produce the good for Juventus and there is no reason whatsoever for them to even think about moving him on at all. Arsenal, too, aren’t exactly desperate for a new striker now either.

Romano is usually spot on with these sorts of transfer stories from Italy so the reality is we can all park it and put it to one side for now.
