It’s almost impossible to keep track of what is happening with Romeo Lavia this summer.
The Belgian has been at the centre of so much transfer speculation as of late with Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all linked to the midfielder.
Lavia’s strongest links as of late have been to Liverpool, and according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on The Redmen TV, a move to Anfield remains the player’s priority.
However, with that being said, Jacobs is led to believe that Lavia won’t do anything unprofessional to push this move through, stating that he is going to be very respectful to Southampton and their wishes.

Lavia won’t push
Jacobs shared what he knows about Lavia.
“With Lavia you won’t see anything unprofessional at this point, but now the season has started and if it doesn’t get done before Liverpool vs Chelsea then if there is a bid lingering close to Deadline Day, that’s when you see the player considering doing something more publicly. When I speak to sources close to the player it has been made very clear. Anfield is the preferred destination, Liverpool have had the situation, apart from the asking price, under control, but he won’t say to Southampton he’s formally asking to leave or issue a bold public statement at this point,” Jacobs said.

Will drag on
It’s great to see that Lavia is being respectful to his club, but if he doesn’t do something soon, this one is just going to drag on and on.
Transfers these days are usually sparked by a player making their stance very clear, and if Lavia is being quite aloof about this move, there will be no rush to get this deal done.
Of course, we’re not advocating for any unprofessional behaviour, but maybe Lavia should just have a word with Southampton and urge them to let him go sooner rather than later.
