Tottenham won’t be unveiling their new kit this evening in their final home Premier League game of the season against Aston Villa – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have a theory that the Harry Kane exit rumours are behind the decision to delay it.
Spurs welcome Villa to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday for their penultimate league match of the campaign, which concludes away to Leicester City at the weekend.
The north London club have confirmed (official website) that the launch of their new kit for the 2021/22 season will now take place later in May.
Football London’s Alasdair Gold added on Twitter that they’ve gone against the original plan to wear next season’s new jersey.

A selection of Spurs supporters on social media believe the club are fearful about picturing their star centre-forward Kane in next season’s kit in case he leaves.
The Independent, along with numerous media outlets, reported this week that Kane has informed Spurs he want to leave at the end of the season.
It is understood that the £150million-rated striker is attracting interest from Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
He’s yet to win a piece of silverware in his career, but is regarded as one of the world’s elite forwards with 32 goals across all competitions so far this campaign.
Here are some Spurs fans speculating about the delayed kit launch:
