A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the speculation linking Neil Lennon’s Hoops with Freddie Woodman.

According to the Newcastle Chronicle, the Magpies loanee has emerged as a target for Celtic, who currenly have just one senior goalkeeper on their books.

Fraser Forster, who shone for the Bhoys last season, is back at parent club Southampton, while Craig Gordon joined Hearts after his Parkhead contract expired.

Woodman has been impressing on loan at English Championship side Swansea City, making 41 league appearances and keeping his current side within reach of the playoffs.

The 23-year-old has another year left on his contract on Tyneside after signing an extension last summer but his hopes of first-team football there look slim.

Along with Martin Dubravka being first-choice for Newcastle, Woodman also has Karl Darlow and new signing Mark Gillespie to contend with for the gloves.

The Newcastle Chronicle claims Celtic have held a long-term interest in Woodman, who is on their shortlist this summer.

The 6ft 2in stopper has Scottish Premiership experience, after loan spells with Kilmarnock and Aberdeen earlier in his career.

What do Celtic fans make of the links though? Here is some of the social media reaction, with some input from Newcastle fans too:
