Sought-after Rangers hitman Morelos is within Tottenham’s price range

Rangers talisman Alfredo Morelos is attracting interest from across France and China this month, according to the Daily Record.

They report that Nice are lining up a bid of £8m for the striker amid uncertainty over the future of Mario Balotelli, while Chinese outfit Beijing Renhe are apparently lingering with interest as well.

Gers manager Steven Gerrard and director of football Mark Allen have both reportedly issued a hands-off warning to any potential suitors this month.

But Morelos is apparently valued at around £10m, which looks more than affordable to the likes of Tottenham – who are in need of additional firepower after Harry Kane was ruled out until March with an ankle problem.

Such is the financial clout in the Premier League, Spurs are reportedly hoping to recoup in the region of £12m for striking flop Vincent Janssen; a fee which really would give Rangers a question to answer over Morelos.

And while Morelos has been so important to Rangers so far this season, the arrival of former Spurs hero Jermain Defoe at Ibrox would soften the blow of losing his goals this month.

Gerrard would understandably be reluctant to lose Morelos, but if a bumper bid around their £10m valuation came in from Spurs, the arrival of Defoe may just convince the Gers that they can maintain a goal threat while cashing in big.
