A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the Ibrox club’s retained list.
With their 2019-20 season now over, the Gers announced on Tuesday that Andy Halliday, Wes Foderingham and Jon Flanagan will leave Ibrox at the end of their contracts.
Halliday and Foderingham joined Rangers in 2015, helping the club earn promotion back to the Scottish Premiership the following season, clocking up 152 and 143 appearances apiece.
Flanagan, meanwhile, linked up with Steven Gerrard’s side in the summer of 2018, and made 39 appearances for the Light Blues.
Jordan Rossiter, Jason Holt and Jak Alnwick – all of whom have been on loan elsewhere this season – will also leave Rangers once their deals expire.
Many Rangers fans were pleased with fellow Bear Halliday having lived the dream in playing for the famous, while Foderingham was deemed too good to stay put as a second-choice goalkeeper, and tipped to excel elsewhere.
Here is some of the social media reaction:
Sad about halliday, big wes needs his game time i can understand that and i wish him aw the luck in the world, Flanagan needs game time too, wes is a cracking goalie, whoever gets him are lucky! We signing another goalie then? As that just leaves 2…Gd luck to all 3 of you boys

Andy Halliday gave his best and if you look back he put in some top performances in big games. 2 old firm games spring to mind straight away. Wes needs games hes too good to be a number 2 and same with Flanagan he needs games.

Got a feeling @wes_foderingham will do well in the future, fantastic keeper and didn’t deserve to be on the bench, best of luck to all 3 lads ?????

Feel for Big Wes as he was a cracking keeper but unfortunately one of the best goalkeepers our club has seen stood in front of him. Would’ve loved to have seen Andy win something with us but he lived the dream, all the best for the future lads ??

Best wishes to them all. Gutted for Andy Halliday. Wes was a good keeper but there isn’t going to be many who can replace McGregor.
Special mention to Holt too for his efforts in the Championship.

Thank you for your services to the club. Think we can all agree that the club needs to move forward but Halliday lived the dream, Wes deserves to go and be number one somewhere, Holty was a great servant and hopefully Rossiter stays fit and fulfils his promise.
