'Sooner they’re gone the better': Some Tottenham fans slam 'spineless' players after update on Conte
Tottenham fans on social media are fuming after an update surrounding some of the players and Antonio Conte.
According to the Athletic, some players had reservations about playing under the Italian manager. Conte is known for his tough methods and practices in training.
Tottenham were unable to recruit Conte
The former Inter Milan coach, who won Serie A last season, was close to joining the north London club. But Tottenham were unable to meet Conte’s demands as BBC Sport report.
Indeed, the former Chelsea manager has a reputation for a tough approach to management. However, it is these tactics that have made Conte one of the most successful managers in recent memory.
Tottenham, meanwhile, have won just one trophy this century, that coming in the 2008 League Cup. Spurs have reached three cup finals since then, but lost each one to British opposition.
Following this update, plenty of Tottenham fans on social media were fuming with the players for having this mentality towards Conte.

Probably the same players who have gotten too comfortable and need shipping out anyway. The same players who are not good enough for a squad for where we want to be.— Graeme_Skelton 💙 (@g_skltn) June 8, 2021
Interim manager Ryan Mason was in the dugout for Tottenham’s League Cup final against Manchester City last season. However, the north London side fell to a 1-0 defeat.
