Tottenham have endured a worrying slump that has taken them from the coat-tails of the Premier League’s top two to sweating on their top four place and facing the prospect of being leap-frogged by their bitter rivals Arsenal.
Losing away from home against Liverpool is not an awful result but coming off the back of a poor run of form and conceding the winning goal late on in such farcical circumstances only adds to the club’s slump of late.
But the move into a new and improved White Hart Lane should improve morale and Heung-min Son has now called on his team-mates to make the most of the elite surroundings they now find themselves in to push on.
According to the Sunday People, 31/03, page 55, Son said: “We have the best training ground in the world, the best stadium in the world and we have the best manager in the world.”

“It’s now very important that the players are serious and take the chance. It’s simple. The answer is now the players, how they perform, how seriously they take things.”
Son – who the Guardian report cost Spurs £22m in 2015 – is always full of energy and professional and it needs all of Spurs’ players to have that attitude if they are to arrest their current slump and keep hold of their current top four spot.
It’s rare to see a player be so forthright and put the emphasis squarely on their team-mates, but there are no excuses for Spurs now.
