Liverpool fans think that Jurgen Klopp may well have just let the cat out of the bag, as they expect a new signing to arrive sooner rather than later.
New signing incoming?
Liverpool supporters have been left frustrated in the transfer window so far, as their side have been fairly inactive.
Liverpool completed a deal for Ibrahima Konate early on in the window, but have since struggled to do any more business.
Most the noises out of the club have suggested that Liverpool have limited funds to spend this summer, and they are hoping to go on a big recruitment drive next year.
But Klopp hinted yesterday that signings could well still be possible.
“I’m very happy with the squad, that doesn’t mean we don’t look at the market. We have a big squad and something might still happen before the end of the transfer window but I can’t say anything at the moment,” he said.
And Liverpool fans are excited by Klopp’s comments at his press conference, which was broadcast on Liverpool’s official Youtube channel, as they don’t think he would be giving so much away without confidence that business was about to be done.
Who will come in?
If Liverpool are to make a signing they have been linked with both a central midfielder and a winger.
The Reds lost Georginio Wijnaldum and have still not replaced him, so there is a gap in their midfield.
Liverpool could also benefit from freshening things up in the forward positions, as both Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino struggled for goals last term.
