'Something is moving': Journalist drops claim about 'incredible' Brazilian reportedly on Arsenal radar

Arsenal are fully up and running in the summer transfer market.

The Gunners have already signed Fabio Vieira and Marquinhos, and Matt Turner is reportedly close to joining.

In addition, Arsenal are targeting a number of other players in several positions.

The Gunners’ interest in Gabriel Jesus is well-known, and Raphinha is also on Edu and Mikel Arteta’s radar.

However, one area that is apparently no longer a top priority is midfield.

Arsenal have apparently cooled their interest in Leicester’s Youri Tielemans.

But now, an Italian journalist has suggested that the Gunners are making progress towards another midfielder.

Back in January, Arsenal were reportedly chasing Juventus ace Arthur Melo.

While links between the two reappeared in the summer window, they’ve not been as concrete as the Tielemans links.

However, Claudio Raimondi reckons that “something is moving” on Arsenal’s side regarding Arthur.

The Italian journalist was speaking on Sport Mediaset, as relayed by Tutto Juve and translated by Sport Witness.

Juve are reportedly looking for reinforcements in midfield, but they need to move some players on first.

Aaron Ramsey and Arthur are two players whose situations need to be resolved, according to Raimondi.

“Juve are interested in Fabian Ruiz,” he said.

But before starting a real negotiation, they must resolve the Ramsey-Arthur situations.

“For the Welshman, who is of interest to the Turkish team coached by Pirlo, they will move towards the termination of his contract with severance pay.

“While for the Brazilian midfielder, something is moving on the Arsenal side.”

Arsenal should go for Tielemans over Arthur – TBR View

Arthur wouldn’t be a bad shout for Arsenal, but would he be a better option than Tielemans?

Sure, Messi compared the Brazilian to Xavi, Andres Iniesta called him “exceptional”, and Thomas Vermaelen said he’s “incredible”.

However, Tielemans has considerable Premier League experience, which Arthur does not.

Also, the Leicester ace reportedly has a £25million price tag, while his Juve counterpart apparently has a £41million price tag.

If Arsenal were to miss out on Tielemans, then Arthur would be a decent fall-back option.

But if the Gunners had a choice between Tielemans and Arthur, going for the former seems like a no-brainer.
