Some West Ham United fans react as David Moyes plots £25m transfer of Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham

Some West Ham United fans have been reacting on social media to reports by the Daily Mail, claiming David Moyes wants to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham this summer.

Abraham’s future will be away from Stamford Bridge after falling out of favour following the arrival of Thomas Tuchel. The 23-year-old only featured seven times under the German for a total of 230 minutes in all competitions.

Tuchel also refused to name Abraham among his substitutes more than 10 times, partly due to a persistent ankle injury. Yet he ended the season as Chelsea’s joint top-scorer with 12 goals while offering six assists in 32 appearances altogether.

Could Centre-Forwards Become Extinct?

Chelsea could now offer Abraham to West Ham in part-exchange for Declan Rice. But Moyes has no interest in a swap-deal and believes a £25million fee is a fair price.

Prior reports by the Daily Star claimed Abraham topped Moyes’ shortlist ahead of Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah and Brentford’s Ivan Toney. However, he faces Chelsea’s £40m asking price that the Scot admitted “would rule us out completely” (Sky Sports).

West Ham are searching for a new striker in the summer transfer window after Sebastien Haller joined Ajax in January. The Irons accepted a £25m loss on their club-record £45m signing (Standard) to part with the Ivorian after 18 months.

Here are some of the reactions shared on social media from West Ham fans reacting to Moyes’ £25m Abraham valuation…
