Liverpool came out triumphant from their UEFA Super Cup clash with Chelsea yesterday. After a 2-2 draw after extra time, it was a penalty save from new keeper Adrian which secured the trophy for the Reds.
It was a moment that West Ham fans certainly enjoyed.
The Spaniard left the Hammers this summer at the end of his contract with the club. The 32-year-old had built up a fine reputation among the West Ham fanbase for his performances with the club over a six-year period.
Unfortunately for Adrian, he lost his starting place last season to Lukasz Fabianski.

Liverpool snapped him up on a free after his release as cover for Brazilian star Alisson. His injury in the opening game of the season against Norwich City meant Adrian was called upon for this big UEFA fixture.
Whilst he may have given away a needless penalty that allowed Chelsea to take the game to penalties, West Ham fans were pleased their ec-player made up for it in the shootout.
He denied Tammy Abraham to secure a 5-4 win and the first honour of his long career.
West Ham fans on Twitter were near-universal in their pleasure at Adrian’s trophy-winning antics…
