Some West Ham fans excited as Lingard is reportedly excluded from Euro 2020
Some West Ham fans were left feeling excited after reports emerged claiming Jesse Lingard has been excluded from the England Euro 2020 squad.
According to David Ornstein, the 28-year-old has not been included in the final 26-man squad.
This comes despite the forward’s impressive form since his move from Manchester United to east London. Lingard scored nine goals and registered four assists in just 15 Premier League appearances.
He was included in England’s squad for the internationals back in March. However, he was left out of Gary Neville’s and Jamie Carragher’s prospective sides when the duo made their picks back in April.
And the move to leave out the Manchester loanee may not come as too much of a surprise given Southgate’s comments back in March.
Upon selecting him for the internationals, the 50-year-old claimed he was ‘fortunate‘ to be included in the squad.
TBR View: Lingard exclusion shock move from England boss
You’ve heard it from many international managers in the past. Squads are picked on form and of the players who deserve it.
In that regard, it proves incredibly shocking the on-loan West Ham attacker has not be selected to take part in Euro 2020.
He was in the best form of any player in the Premier League, winning the player of the month award for April.
Here is how fans reactd to the news…

Jesse Lingard deserves to be in that England squad.— James (@JameswhufcJones) June 1, 2021
Been arguably the best player in the PL since he joined West Ham on loan.
Perks of him not being in the squad, he can’t have a blinder and United bump his price up too much, and less teams will be fighting us to sign him.
