Aston Villa got off to the worst possible start in their Premier League opener, yet there was a debut for summer signing Leon Bailey.

The Jamaican international joined earlier in the window from Bayer Leverkusen. However, the attacker started Villa’s away trip to Vicarage Road on the bench.

Bailey featured heavily in the Gold Cup for the Reggae Boyz, and it was implied that the attacker is not match fit for Premier League football just yet for Villa.

The forward started on the bench against Watford. However, Bailey did enter the field for his Villa debut. However, it was too late for the 23-year-old to change the score for the Midlands side.

Indeed, Bailey did impressive when combined with Bertrand Traore, with the attacking duo managing 12 accurate passes and assisting both of Villa’s late goals against the Hornets.

And as you would expect, fans on social media are eager for Bailey to start next week for Villa. Dean Smith’s side face off against Newcastle United, and the Villains will be eager to return to winning ways.
