Some Tottenham Hotspur fans not impressed with Oliver Skipp performance

Tottenham Hotspur are out of the FA Cup after going down 2-0 to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Despite injuries leaving Spurs lacking serious quality in attack Mauricio Pochettino also rested Christian Eriksen for the tie as well as Toby Alderweireld.

It was a poor first-half display that truly left Tottenham in trouble. A tap-in for Connor Wickham and an Andros Townsend penalty had Spurs 2-0 down. Kieran Trippier, easily the worst player on the pitch, missed a penalty on the stroke of half-time as Tottenham went out with a whimper.

There was plenty of stick for Trippier, Eric Dier and Fernando Llorente online from Tottenham fans.

Some Spurs fans were also disappointed with the performance of one of their young talents. Oliver Skipp was given a chance in the heart of midfield.

The 18-year-old has been impressive in previous cameos but against Palace’s midfield of Max Meyer and Cheikhou Kouyate he was found wanting.

The teenager looked out of his depth and some Tottenham fans were not impressed with his performance.

His effort cannot be faulted and, hopefully, this will prove a learning curve for the midfielder.

But for some Tottenham fans, Skipp may not have the talent to make it in the first-team at Spurs…
