Tottenham Hotspur are planning a move to sign defender Matt Doherty during the transfer window, according to Football London.
Boss Jose Mourinho is keen to add a right-back to his squad and has identified the Republic of Ireland international as an ideal signing.
Serge Aurier has been the occupant of the right-back slot since Mourinho’s arrival but he could depart before the window slams shut in October.
Doherty has been a vital part of the Wolves team for years, playing 300 times for the club and helping them become an established top-flight outfit.

Last season the right-back was part of the Wolves team that reached the quarter-final of the Europa League; although the 28-year-old could be allowed to leave.
Doherty’s signing would help Tottenham bolster the homegrown quota in Mourinho’s squad.
Tottenham are hoping to snare the defender away from their Premier League rivals for a fee in the region of £12 million. With that in mind, if Aurier is moved on that could represent a savvy piece of business.
Spurs have been linked with several right-backs this summer and recently offloaded Kyle Walker-Peters, who joined Southampton permanently after a successful loan spell.
Following the link, Tottenham fans have been reacting on Twitter and here is a selection of their Tweets regarding the £50,000-a-week defender.
