Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have made the case for Serge Aurier to get a new contract.
The full-back has largely been in inspired form in 2020/21, and has responded excellently to the club signing Matt Doherty in the summer.
Many thought a regular bench role beckoned for Aurier following the arrival of the Republic of Ireland international.

But Aurier has been given chances by Jose Mourinho, and taken them.
Prior to 2020/21 it had been a rocky ride for Aurier at Spurs, with the Ivorian regularly coming in for criticism for his ‘rash’ style.
This season Aurier has improved his discipline, and his nine appearances would suggest Mourinho sees him as a valuable member of the squad.
And Aurier deserves major credit for delivering the kind of performances he has after the tragic killing of his brother back in June.

To have gone through that must have been terrible for him and his family, and other players may have struggled to focus in such circumstances.
But Aurier has knuckled down to become a key player for Mourinho and Spurs.
And the £70,000-a-week star’s (Spotrac) recent improvements have prompted some to call for the 27-year-old to get a new contract at the club:
