Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on social media to reports by football.london that their side has not yet contacted Mauricio Pochettino over replacing Jose Mourinho.
Spurs are understood to have drawn up a long list of options who could succeed Mourinho, but have seen a handful of candidates taken off the board with Ajax renewing Erik ten Hag’s contract while Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter have distanced themselves.
The north London outfit are intent on targeting a new head coach who can establish a more progressive style of football than Mourinho with an attacking focus, favours possession and fits with the club’s culture including those established during Pochettino’s tenure.

Potter is thought to appeal to a number of the Tottenham squad who have been repeatedly impressed by his Brighton & Hove Albion side in previous meetings, while club figures feel he would suit their desired profile, but he has reiterated his commitment to the Seagulls.
Belgium boss Roberto Martinez and Fulham coach Scott Parker are also admired by figures in north London, yet Pochettino is not currently under consideration despite his future with Paris Saint-Germain appearing bleak.
It is suggested that Pochettino could be sacked by the French outfit after their semi-final exit in the Champions League, while needing LOSC Lille to drop points if they are to defend their Ligue 1 title.
As things stand, though, no contact has been initiated by Pochettino or Tottenham over a return to the Premier League, less than two years after the Argentine was fired by Chairman Daniel Levy following a disappointing start to the season (BBC) that left Spurs 14th in the table.
Pochettino led Tottenham to the Champions League Final in 2019 during his five years at the club, which saw the 49-year-old win 113 of his 202 Premier League games at the helm but only two of his last 10 with a side predominantly still in north London.
Here’s how these Spurs fans reacted to claims that their side has not yet made contact with Pochettino over a potential return to replace Mourinho…
