Tottenham fans watched on last night as one of their own players helped stick the boot into Arsenal’s Europa League campaign. Juan Foyth enjoyed a bittersweet night for Villarreal as they edged the first leg 2-1.
The defender started the contest at right-back and was largely impressive throughout. His night did turn sour, however, when he hobbled off with a hamstring problem.
His injury could rule him out of the second leg in North London next week. Tottenham fans, however, took to Twitter to demand that the Argentinean performer is back in their squad next season.

Foyth has always been a versatile performer and last night he showcased his talents from right-back. He has also played at centre-back and as a defensive midfielder for Villarreal.
Some reports have claimed that Unai Emery is keen to sign him permanently in the summer. Spurs fans will hope that isn’t the case though and that any new manager takes a look at him first.
Foyth has two years to run on a contract worth £21,500-a-week and plenty feel he is a better option than Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty who are Tottenham’s current options.
Following his stellar performance in last night’s game, we looked at what Tottenham fans had to say about the 23-year-old’s standout showing.
