Tottenham target Matthew Hoppe has raised his stock by some margin after scoring his first international goal for the USMNT.

The 20-year-old talent scored the only goal in last night’s CONCACAF Gold Cup quarter-final fixture between the US and Jamaica.

Gregg Berhalter’s side will face off against Qatar in the semi-finals, with Canada and Mexico contesting the other fixture of the competition.

It was a cagey affair for the host nation. But an 83rd-minute header from Hoppe secured the US’ passage to the next round.

According to 90min, Tottenham are keen on the Schalke attacker. Hoppe was one of the few shining lights for the German side last season as they were relegated to the second-tier.

The Ruhr-based club will likely entertain an offer for Hoppe should one come in for the young US striker during the window.

And on social media, Spurs fans liked what they saw from the youngster in last night’s win against Jamaica.

With Harry Kane the club’s only natural first-team striker, Hoppe could be a welcome addition to the Tottenham squad. The north London side are set to compete in the UEFA Europa Conference League next season.
