Some Stoke fans react to Jack Clarke’s debut following Spurs loan switch
Tottenham Hotspur loanee Jack Clarke made his debut for Stoke on Saturday following his loan switch from Spurs in midweek.
The 20-year-old will spend the remainder on the season with the Championship side after the move was announced on Thursday.
Clarke joined Spurs in the summer of 2019 for a reported £10million after shining at Leeds and returned to Elland Road on loan, only for that stint to be cut short due to a lack of game time.

He then moved to Queens Park Rangers at the start of last year but he struggled for game time once again, making just seven appearances, six of those off the bench.
Clarke stayed at Tottenham in the first half of the 2020-21 season as Jose Mourinho wanted him to develop under his tutelage.
He’s now left North London once again in search of first-team minutes and they duly came in Saturday’s Championship trip to Blackburn, which finished 1-1.
Clarke came on in the 60th minute in place of Nick Powell, who had a great game up until that point but appeared to be limping before coming off.
As reported by the Stoke Sentinel, he showed glimpses of his eagerness to run at defenders, but following James Chester’s sending off, he was pushed into rearguard action.
Here is what some Potters fans said during and after the game:
That game changed completely when Powell went off. He is so critical to this team wherever he plays. (That’s no criticism to Clarke) #SCFC

Clarke looks the more classy of the 2. Matondo has a lot of pace, but his decision making was poor on a few occasions today. Thought he played OK though overall.

Matondo was ok but gave the ball away too easy at times rnd quality and Clarke didn’t get chance do much but looks decent

Suit yourself, but I thought RND and Clarke both looked good, and reverting to 4-3-3 was a positive change. Matondo was good in flashes, but admittedly looks raw. ‘Well off the pace’ is harsh.

Did well going forward and back, red card had an impact on him but looking forward to him having a striker to aim for 🤞🏽

Rhys Norrington Davies had a solid debut, though we needed to see more from Rabbi Matondo. Perhaps the conditions didn’t suit him, but we hope to see more than he offered today. Jack Clarke showed a couple of glimpses of what he’s about coming in from the left wing.

Agreed but when we brought on Clarke we wanted to stay defensive so we couldn’t get to see his skill and pace yet
