Some Spurs fans want to sign striker who's a free agent and loves Son Heung-min
A number of Spurs fans reckon Daniel Sturridge would be a good shout to join Tottenham now the transfer window has closed.
The north Londoners bolstered their ranks over the summer, with Pierluigi Gollini, Emerson Royal, Cristian Romero and Bryan Gil joining.
Pape Matar Sarr has also signed for Spurs, though he’ll remain on loan at Metz this season.
However, Tottenham remain with just one senior centre-forward on their books – Harry Kane.
With the transfer window now shut, clubs can now only sign free agents – and Sturridge is currently without a club.
The 32-year-old boasts an impressive CV, having played for the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool.
He also has a Premier League, two Champions League medals and two FA Cups to his name.
Sadly, injury issues have hampered Sturridge’s career in the past few years.
However, some Spurs fans reckon he could still do a job as a back-up for Kane:
Surely do bits for a season against conference league sides lol pic.twitter.com/GaWJorg9k8— 🇹🇳Captain Højbjerg🇹🇳 (@NabilJ90) September 1, 2021
Honestly wouldn’t be mad at it, let the guy play cup rounds with the younger guys and guys who need minutes. Keeps Kane and Son safe and I’m sure he’d be considered home grown on small wages too.— J (@JesusHinojosa__) September 1, 2021
I’d take a punt on sturridge— Simon Worth (@simonworth) September 1, 2021
Same. Injury prone but free, probably not much in wages at this point in his career, and homegrown so helps with registration limits.— Sandy Tait 🏳️🌈🐓 (@SandyTaitFM) September 1, 2021
Sturridge for HG and vibes when he scores? Might inspire our young strikers too.— ap (@otheranthony) September 1, 2021
Would at least be inviting Sturridge for a trial! Even if only used in Conference League to give Kane a breather.— Clarky (@ClarkySpurs) September 1, 2021
Sturridge could still on do a job in the conference league— OCH20 (@OwenTHFC1882) September 1, 2021
Sturridge would be a good shout on a pay as you play contract— Dan Loton (@danloton77) September 1, 2021
I would actually take Daniel Sturridge at Tottenham as long as his wages are low https://t.co/1lsRJP4DeY— Owen🇬🇧 (@_OwenTHFC) September 1, 2021
Sturridge recently sang Son Heung-min’s praises, saying the Spurs man is one of his favourite players.
