Some Spurs fans think they already have Eriksen replacement at N17 in 20-year-old

A number of Spurs fans have been discussing how Bryan Gil could potentially be the club’s successor to Christian Eriksen.

Tottenham sold Eriksen in January 2020 and, truth be told, they haven’t managed to replace him yet.

Spurs have been lacking a creative source since then, and this was evident against Crystal Palace last time out.

And with Tanguy Ndombele’s uncertain future, Tottenham could potentially lose another creative outlet next year.

But Gil’s arrival at Spurs has energised the fanbase, who reckon he could be a future superstar.

Admittedly, the 20-year-old is a winger by trade, while Eriksen mostly plies his trade centrally.

That said, the Dane has often played on the flanks during his career, and he’d drift inside towards centre.

Could Gil be given similar licence, or perhaps even be deployed at No. 10 outright?

After all, he’s a young player, and minor positional changes aren’t unheard of amongst senior players.

The prospect of the Spaniard potentially becoming the new Eriksen is one that appeals to quite a few Spurs fans:
