'Curse this club': Some Spurs fans react to what Jan Vertonghen posted on Instagram last night
Although Jan Vertonghen left Spurs last year, the Belgian still has a soft spot for Tottenham.
Vertonghen often interacts with social media posts linked with Spurs and his ex-teammates.
And on Thursday, the 34-year-old watched as Tottenham cruised into the Europa Conference League group stage.
Spurs ran out 3-0 winners over Pacos de Ferreira in north London, overturning their 1-0 first-leg deficit.
Harry Kane opened the scoring after just nine minutes, rifling home following a superb pass from Bryan Gil.
The England captain then doubled Tottenham’s lead when he slammed a low drive into the corner shortly before the break.
Kane’s goal turned the tie around, and Spurs added one more when Giovani Lo Celso forced an own goal from Vitorino Antunes.
Vertonghen was watching the game and, after Kane opened the scoring, shared the following Insta story:
