Some Spurs fans buzzing as Romano claims they're signing reported Arsenal target
Spurs fans have welcomed Fabrizio Romano’s update claiming reported Arsenal target Emerson Royal is N17-bound on transfer deadline day.
Tottenham and the Gunners have been linked with the Barcelona full-back for a number of weeks.
The Telegraph claimed at the weekend that Spurs were attempting to negotiate a deal for the 22-year-old.
Meanwhile, David Ornstein claimed in The Athletic that Arsenal were ready to swap Hector Bellerin for one of two La Liga right-backs.
One of those was Emerson, and the other is Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Tripper, claimed Ornstein.
However, it looks as though Spurs have won the race for the Brazilian ace.
Romano has claimed that Tottenham worked on a deal to sign Emerson in the late hours of Monday evening.
Spurs have reportedly agreed a fee worth just over £25million for the defender, who’s set for a five-year contract.
And plenty of Spurs fans are pleased:

Spurs target Emerson – the story so far
Emerson arrived in La Liga from Brazil’s Atletico Mineiro in 2018.
As part of a joint deal between Barca and Real Betis, the 22-year-old would play for the latter club first, for two seasons.
The Blaugrana held the option of buying him outright for €6million in 2021, which they recently took up.
Emerson was a regular for Manuel Pellegrini last season and helped Betis reach the Europa League, providing 10 assists in the process.
“He’s one of the best full-backs in the league, he’s been called up by Brazil despite all the competition,” Ronald Koeman recently said about Emerson.
“He’ll bring us a lot physically and fits our way of playing.”
