Some Southampton fans have been feeling overjoyed after it was announced that the club have agreed a deal with Theo Walcott to join the club on a permanent basis this summer.

The 47-cap England international joined the Saints on a loan deal from Everton in the January transfer window, however, his deal with the Goodison Park outfit was due to expire in the summer. It meant he was free to negotiate with other clubs over a move ahead of next season.

It was announced on the club’s website, the experienced attacker will be putting pen to paper on a two-year deal when his deal expires at the end of June.

Speaking about the deal, Walcott claimed he couldn’t express how happy he was at returning to the club, where he became an academy graduate.

Danny Ings is the most notable attacker given his spells with Burnley and Liverpool, however, aside from him, there seems to be very little experience.

Walcott adds 367 top-flight appearances and 138 goal contributions, which can be priceless for a Saints side who have dropped the many points from winning positions.
