The 26-year-old has trodden an unusual path in his footballing career so far.

Having played for Arsenal and QPR as a kid, he moved to the Netherlands 2008 to sign for HFC Haarlem.

He then moved to Ajax, Sparta Rotterdam and RKC Waalwijk, before joining Slovakian side AS Trenčín aged 21.

It was there he got his first taste of regular first-team football, spending four seasons at the Štadión na Sihoti.

He transferred to Anderlecht last summer and made 35 appearances in all competitions in his first season.
