Rangers slipped to their first defeat of 2020/21, losing 3-2 to St Mirren in the League Cup quarter-final.
Steven Gerrard’s side’s hopes of silverware were dashed by the Buddies, who responded brilliantly to going a goal down early.

Conor Goldson put the visitors ahead, which set Rangers up nicely, but there were to be no real clear-cut chances in the first-half. Jamie McGrath then equalised from the spot after a clumsy challenge from Calvin Bassey.
McGrath scored again seven minutes after the restart, but Steven Davis then equalised from a James Tavernier free-kick to set up the prospect of extra-time.
But that never came, as Conor McCarthy popped up at the death to dump Rangers out, and leave Gerrard with plenty to think about.

It was a hugely disappointing result for Rangers, whose unbeaten run comes to an end after 27 games.
After the game, some fans got to discussing Filip Helander, who was back on the bench last night after testing positive for Covid-19 at the end of November.
Leon Balogun did not have the best outing in Paisley, and some fans are hoping to see £3.5 million signing Helander (Sky Sports) back in alongside Goldson this weekend against Motherwell.
Gerrard said after the game that Balogun was ‘dizzy’ after being caught by Jon Obika during the closing stages, meaning Helander could well earn a recall.
