Some PSG fans want Idrissa Gana Gueye to head back to Everton with Moise Kean in exchange

Paris Saint-Germain suffered another defeat in the Champions League last night as RB Leipzig bounced back from their 5-0 loss to Manchester United in the last round of fixtures.

Goals from former PSG midfielder Christopher Nkunku and a penalty from Emil Forsberg helped the German side claim the win despite Angel Di Maria giving the Ligue 1 champions the lead.

It was a game in which in form Everton loanee Moise Kean could not make an impact, but one former Everton player certainly did.

Idrissa Gana Gueye was sent off after picking up two yellow cards and it continued what has been a downturn in form for the Senegalese midfielder.

Gueye thrived after initially joining PSG in a £29 million deal back in the summer of 2019, as reported by The Guardian. The former Everton favourite started last season as one of their key players, especially in the Champions League. However, he eventually fell out of the first-team picture under Thomas Tuchel, and, now, he is not exactly revered by PSG fans. In fact, plenty on Twitter were asking Everton if they might take Gueye back, with Kean potentially heading in the other direction.

“Can’t we send Gueye instead of Kean to Everton?” One PSG fan stated on Twitter.

“We keep Kean and send Gueye back to Everton”, another added, “Gueye exchange – Kean is it good? @Everton”. One more stated, “We must try to send Gueye back to Everton at the end of Kean’s loan.”

Sorry PSG, but this would be a no-go.

Gueye is a much-loved figure around Everton but the Toffees would not currently swap Kean out for his return.

Whilst Kean has struggled at Goodison Park, his bright start in Paris has given Everton hope of a potential successful return or even a lucrative resale value on the Italian.

Gueye, at 31-years-old, would not have that similar financial benefit.

With Allan in and Jean-Philippe Gbamin finally on the brink of, hopefully, an injury free run on Merseyside. There would be little place left for Gueye.

Everton fans will no doubt hope for all the best for the Senegalese star but his time at Everton has been and past.
