It was a night to remember for Bukayo Saka and Arsenal yesterday, as the Gunners downed Benfica in the Europa League to advance to the last 16.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was the goalscoring hero. The Gabon star’s double strike ensuring a safe passage through for Mikel Arteta’s troops against tricky and quality opponents.
However, while Aubameyang might have got the goals, it was young winger, Bukayo Saka, who caught the eye once again his fine performance. The England man getting both assists for ‘Auba’ and once again showing his quality.
Saka’s emergence this season into one of Europe’s brightest young players has been a shining light for the Gunners. And following the game, he took to Instagram to share his delight at helping Arsenal into the next round.
Naturally, like most modern and younger footballers, Saka has a wealth of followers on the platform, many of whom were keen to send their own well-wishes to the Arsenal hero.
Among them, were Norwich star Todd Cantwell, Gunners teammate Reiss Nelson, and former teammate, Sam Greenwood. There were many more too, as Saka clearly caught the eye of teammates, opponents, and pundits with his sensational display.
Here’s what was being said to Saka, then, on Instagram last night.
