Some Newcastle United fans have slated new signing Emil Krafth for his performance against Norwich City.
The full-back was making his debut for the club after signing for £5 million from Amiens (Sky Sports), and it was something of a baptism of fire for the 25-year-old.
The Sweden international really struggled at Carrow Road, with many suggesting he looked out of his depth.
Most Newcastle players were poor on the day, but Krafth was under the microscope with it being his first game – and he failed to convince.
The star was in for Javier Manquillo, who also struggled last weekend against Arsenal.
Hopes were high for Krafth to play well and nail down his place in the side, but he could well lose his place after such a shaky display.
Next up for Newcastle is Tottenham Hotspur, and it could be a big risk persisting with Krafth against such dangerous opposition.
Although it was a day to forget for Krafth, he obviously should not be written off and clearly needs time to adjust to the Premier League.
Newcastle fans react
Some Newcastle fans were pretty unforgiving about the player on social media:
I’ve told a few fans on here Krafth is bang average & I got slated got it again as a Serie a watcher we’re proved right notived that scoring goals is a massive problem too joe needs support Aimiron isn’t close to him neither our midfield something isn’t right atm

Krafth was terrible. All 3 goals were his mistakes for being either too slow to get to Pukki or because he was nowhere around. Weak debut.

I felt bad for Krafth, he got beat a couple times but he was made to look a lot worse than he was. Only one who tried to stop that 3rd goal

If I may say #NUFC you spent all week praising Manquillo then he was dropped; Krafth had a mare. £40m striker should’ve changed the game at 0.0. Norwich are about our level so an away loss isn’t drastic but accept the moaning!
NOW Watford & Brighton home are 100% must win.

Too many players off form today. Ki and Krafth were awful. Shelvey and Ritchie weren’t much better. Hayden was the only player to come out with any credit. I think it’s far too soon to blame Bruce but deep down I suspect it won’t get much better and we all know how it ends #nufc

I know a lot of fans don’t rate Manquillo (personally think he is decent and can do a job) but why would you start the lad who has never played a second of Prem in his career ahead of him?

Abysmal performance from NUFC who stood off today. Krafth seemed totally out of his depth why Manquillo who had an excellent pre season was dropped I have no idea Ki who did nothing instead of Longstaff another strange decision. No cutting edge up front very worrying performance

Krafth has had a nightmare debut too. Feel a bit for him but he doesn’t look ready totally looked out of his depth. No idea why Bruce dropped Manquillo.

Krafth has had a truly aweful debut #nufc

Zero width in fairness to them. Krafth has no mobility and Ritchie cant beat the first man
