Some Newcastle United fans were lashing out at the Premier League after the latest update regarding the club’s potential takeover emerged.
The league’s governing body was given more time to the club’s appeal to the Competition Appeal Tribunal over the Geordies’ collapsed takeover. CAT president the Hon Mr. Justice Roth has granted the governing body an extension up until the 11th of June.
Anger ensued from Mike Ashley and Amanda Staveley’s largely Saudi-funded consortium after the organisation made the parties wait more than 17 weeks as they conducted their owners’ and directors’ test. After such a lengthy waiting period, the bid collapsed as the takeover party withdrew its bid.
The appeal concerning the collapse of the bid is set to be heard in July of this year, according to court documentation.

It seems there is delay after delay without proper reasonining from the Premier League, who seem to be doing everything in their power to stop the proposed takeover by the Saudi backed consortium.
The process has caused mass confusion in the northeast and the sooner a resolution is reached the better for supporters of the club.
