Some Manchester City fans optimistic Kane will join club after Nuno Espirito Santo comments
Some Manchester City fans were reacting after Harry Kane commented on new Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
In an interview with talkSPORT, the centre-forward claimed there was a level of excitement about the coach’s appointment.
The England international has been linked with a move to the Citizens this summer. It comes after he spoke about his desire to win major trophies. Reports from the Daily Star claimed Kane was ‘hellbent’ on joining Pep Guardiola’s side.
After a slow start to Euro 2020, the attacker has enjoyed better performances in recent weeks. Kane has scored in back-to-back games against Germany and Ukraine.
When talking about Nuno, Kane said: “Whenever a new manager comes in, I guess there’s a level of excitement around the club. Obviously, I’ve not been there and not had any contact with him.”
“He’s a great manager and did a great job at Wolves and got them playing a really good way. Let’s get back and I’m sure we’ll be in contact after the tournament.”
Manchester City heartbreak: Kane could yet remain at Tottenham after Nuno comments
All the speculation has linked Kane with an exit, however, his comments on Nuno hint he could yet remain and reject Manchester City.
The 27-year-old’s compliments about the 47-year-old show off happiness over the appointment.
The figure has been a talismanic figure since his breakthrough in 2014.
His tally of 32 goals and 18 assists last season showed shades of Thierry Henry. The Frenchman was synonymous with carrying Arsenal’s attack in the early 2000s.
And it seems Kane is carrying out similar work with the current Spurs side.
