Some Manchester City fans have backed a potential future move for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish on social media, after a report over the weekend claimed he is now a top target for the club.

The Daily Star claimed the 25-year-old is wanted by City, with Pep Guardiola supposedly seeing him as an ideal addition to his squad.

Grealish has been one of the Premier League’s outstanding performers this term, scoring five goals and making six assists in all competitions.

The star has been absolutely influential for Villa, and is now very much involved with England after much clamour.

Grealish has wowed against Belgium and the Republic of Ireland this international break, and the playmaker said after the game that he watches video clips of City star Kevin De Bruyne to improve his own game.

He has spoken previously about his admiration for the 29-year-old, who won last season’s PFA Player of the Year award.

One gets the feeling that City will always be mentioned as potential suitors for Grealish given his comments on De Bruyne, even though Guardiola has a number of top-class attackers already.

It seems a number of supporters of the Etihad club are now quite keen to see Grealish signed amid the latest reports of interest and his brilliant form for club and country:
