Some Manchester City fans are confident in summer swoop for Lionel Messi following report
Manchester City fans are dreaming big following new reports surrounding Lionel Messi’s future, with the FC Barcelona attacker still yet to decide on where he will play his football next season.
Yet according to the Sun, that place could be Pep Guardiola’s Man City, with the report claiming that Messi would be interested in a 12-month deal with the Premier League champions and that the club are willing to meet his enormous £500,000-a-week wage demands, which would make the Argentine the highest-paid player in the division by some distance.
Messi has been linked with a move to City for some time, in large part due to Guardiola, and with the footballing legend still likely to depart Barcelona this summer, a reunion with his former manager is still on the cards, and supporters of the Manchester-based club on social media are dreaming of a possible transfer.
Here’s what some City fans had to say about the latest rumour surrounding Messi on Twitter…
Not impossible ! Pep we cant afford a striker Messi isnt a striker.Has to wear the number 10 we have the shirt vacant.Surely Aguero his best mate knows if hes staying or going.Said for a while the Messi thing isnt over.He would have said Kuns coming im staying. Watch this space.
