Some Man City fans react as 'brilliant' player completes loan move; will play under 'legend'
Manchester City have confirmed the loan departure of academy graduate Taylor Harwood-Bellis to R.S.C. Anderlecht.
The club announced on their official website that the centre-back will join Vincent Kompany’s side next week and will spend the 2021/22 season in Belgium.
Harwood-Bellis is one of City’s top youth prospects and last season spent a part of the campaign on-loan with Championship side Blackburn Rovers.
City have enjoyed success of sending youth players to Anderlecht since Kompany’s appointment as manager.
Lukas Nmecha joined the side last season on loan and was named the club’s Player of the Year. The striker scored 21 goals in all competitions for the Belgian giants.
With Ruben Dias and John Stones forming the Premier League’s best centre-back pairing last season, first-team chances would have been hard for Harwood-Bellis.
Indeed, a loan spell was always going to be the right decision for the youngster. And on social media, lots of City supporters were buzzing to see Harwood-Bellis make the move to Anderlecht.
Moreover, fans are excited to see how the England youth international develops under Kompany, who many see as one of City’s best ever centre-backs and captains.
Here’s what some supporters had to say about Harwood-Bellis joining Anderlecht on loan for the season on Twitter…
