Fabinho was handed his first start of the season for Liverpool by Jurgen Klopp on Wednesday, and the Brazilian impressed.
The summer signing from AS Monaco has had to bide his time, but last night he was selected to anchor the midfield against Serbian outfit Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League – and he’s definitely done his starting prospects no harm.
The Brazilian grew more and more into the game as it progressed, and was given the full 90 by Klopp.

He showcased his impressive knack for winning the ball firmly and fairly, and also recycled possession well.
It was a nice game for him to make his mark, and he and Gini Wijnaldum were a solid pairing in midfield together for the Reds.
It was important for Fabinho to take his chance, since Liverpool have so many options in midfield this season.
Did he move ahead of Henderson and Keita?
Admittedly Red Star are not the most dangerous side in the world.
But Fabinho was asked to do a job, and he carried it out fantastically well.

James Milner has played a lot of football under Klopp and has been in fine form, but Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita are yet to hit the ground running this term – meaning Fabinho could start integrating as a regular starter from here.
Liverpool fans loved his debut
Some Reds supporters were thrilled with what they saw from Fabinho.
They wanted him to be great, considering the money he arrived for (£43. 7 million – The Telegraph) and the fact he’s had to be patient, and they weren’t disappointed:
