Some Liverpool fans were left unhappy after reports emerged about Adrian receiving a new contract.
According to Daily Mail, the shot-stopper is close to agreeing on terms for a new contract. The move will see youngster Caoimhin Kelleher leave the club on loan this summer.
The Irishman overtook his Spanish counterpart as the number two last season. However, Adrian returned to keep a clean sheet for the win over Sheffield United in February.
The 34-year-old hasn’t enjoyed the best of times at Anfield. In just 21 games, Adrian’s made five mistakes, as many as Alisson has in 92.
Adrian has endured a mixed time with the Reds. He was the hero in the UEFA Super Cup, however, was at fault as they lost to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

TBR View: Adrian not deserving of new Liverpool contract
There is a player more undeserving of a new contract than the 34-year-old.
His errors have cost the Reds over the course of his two years at Anfield, especially in the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Kelleher has proven a solid back-up to Alisson and should replace the Spaniard as the Brazilian’s number two.
Adrian’s contract is a baffling move as is the decision to loan out the Irishman.
Here is how fans reacted to the report…
