Liverpool fans reacted with concern after Andy Robertson picked up an injury in the pre-season clash with Athletic Bilbao.

What’s the story?

After appearing to roll his ankle, the Scotsman limped off at the end of the first half in yesterday’s 1-1 draw.

A statement has since been released claiming Robertson will undergo a scan to identify the severity.

Jurgen Klopp failed to reveal his feelings on the issue as he awaits the results on the scan.

If out, Liverpool could face some serious issues with the season set to start at the end of this week.

Konstantinos Tsimikas is the figure’s replacement, but, the Greek ace figure just twice in the Premier League last season.

The 25-year-old was reportedly leaving in a loan move amid his lack of game time in his debut campaign on Merseyside.

Robertson once took part in a quiz, where he claimed to be a favourite of Klopp’s.

Liverpool will be tested by the injury of Robertson

Last season was a fairly frustrating campaign for everyone at Anfield. However, no one more than the Greece international.

His lack of game time was a shame especially considering how badly the club struggled.

As a result, Liverpool will be tested by the absence of Robertson as Tsimikas looks to fill in.

You’d imagine any departure for the left-back is off the table given the former Hull City player’s injury problems.

And for Klopp’s sake, he’ll be praying the former Olympiacos man can slot in seamlessly.
