Some Liverpool fans excited as £21.6m ‘tank’ reportedly gets Anfield offer

A number of Liverpool fans have welcomed speculation claiming the Reds have made Franck Kessie an offer.

The Reds are seemingly looking at strengthening their midfield ranks in 2022.

Meanwhile, Kessie looks set to become one of the most highly sought-after free agents next summer.

The 25-year-old has been at Milan since 2019, when he joined from Atalanta for £21.6million.

However, Kessie is yet to renew his contract, which expires at the end of the season.

And he’d be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with Liverpool – or any other club – from 1 January.

As well as Liverpool, Tottenham are apparently eyeing Kessie too.

Indeed, Milan Live reported last week that Spurs were leading the race for the Ivory Coast international.

But now, according to Italian outlet Ansa, the Reds have made Kessie a “very interesting offer”.

Ansa suggests that Kessie would be leaving at the end of the season rather than January.

Liverpool’s midfield has been great this season, but there’s always scope for strengthening.

And in getting such a talented player for a bargain price – or even a free transfer – would be a coup for the Reds.
