Loris Karius is back training with Liverpool.

The goalkeeper is back with his Reds teammates in Austria, as the club go through their preparations for the 2020/21 season.

The German stopper is back on the scene after spending almost the entirety of the last two campaigns on loan at Besiktas following his nightmare at the 2018 Champions League final (the loan was terminated with the Turkish giants in May).

Karius’ two mistakes against Real Madrid prompted the club to send him to the Super Lig in a bid to regain him some confidence.

It was a topsy turvy time for the 27-year-old, with his form blowing hot and cold.

In the 2018/19 season – his first term on loan at Vodafone Park – Karius recorded a relatively good save percentage of 73.3% (Sky Sports).

In the 2019/20 season, he managed eight clean sheets from 25 Super Lig appearances.

It was not a disastrous spell, but neither was it a particularly good one.

That being said, the £25,000-a-week Karius (Spotrac) being pictured back in Liverpool training has got some Reds fans talking about him playing backup to Alisson next season.

Some see Karius as a better option than Adrian, who did make some mistakes of his own for Liverpool last season, notably against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last 16 defeat:
