Some Liverpool fans can’t believe the club have agreed on a deal with Lyon for Xherdan Shaqiri.
What’s the story?
According to Sky Sports, the Reds have agreed a fee of £9.5m for the Switzerland international.
Shaqiri had already settled on personal terms with the French outfit over a move.
The ‘superb’ attacker allegdly asked Jurgen Klopp to let him leave so he can play regularly. Since joining Liverpool in 2018, the 29-year-old has made just 63 appearances for the side.
Despite selling Shaqiri, it does not sound like the Merseysiders will bring a replacement in. According to the Daily Mail, Harvey Elliott is under consideration as a replacement for the Swiss ace.
The 18-year-old played the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Burnley.

Shaqiri needs replacing
Going into the season with a youngster as one of the attacking choices is a risky decision.
As a result, Liverpool need to replace Shaqiri amid reports of a deal being agreed.
Elliott has yet to hit the ground running in the famous red of Liverpool and should act as a bench option for now
However, if the club do not sign a replacement for Shaqiri, he will find himself as one of the key players.
In a 38-game campaign, at 18, that is a move which can easily backfire.
Here is how some Liverpool fans reacted to the news…
